My husband is not a facial hair kind of guy. This is a sad thing because he actually has enough that he can grow a decent beard in a decent amount of time. I convinced him --I'm not quite sure how--I wish I knew. I would do it again-- to grow a beard for just a few days. I thought each day that he would shave it off but he actually made it 9 days. AMAZING! Anyway I think he is so handsome I had to share a picture of him with all of you.
Thanks Honey!
PS Don't worry honey, you are handsome with out the beard too!

Snow or is it Ice?
Since the kids have never "been to the snow" we promised them that we would go last year. So we went up on New Years Day to Flagstaff. It was fun. The kids were surprised to see that the snow was really Ice! We informed them that snow isn't usually that hard or icy. That is what happens when it has been a few days since it has snowed and the sun has been shining.
They were also surprised that it was so difficult making a snow man as well as snowballs. They finally decided to just find a clump of ice--I mean snow and use that to throw instead.
After many attempts at building a snowman we finally found one who was missing a head. This sorry head was the best we could get (remember we had to find a clump already made as packing didn't work).
They discovered that sledding is really fun and can be quite dangerous. Especially when there are large jumps (packed rock hard) and bumps (packed even harder) in your way.
We left after a couple days of fun, very happy and really needing some Chiropractic adjustments. We look forward to a visit to fresh snow next winter.

Our Swimming Pool!
Living here in Sunny Arizona we often long for our own backyard pool. We have a large part in our yard set aside for the day that dream comes true. Until then we have used part of it for our garden. Today when J. came home from school I showed her our new "swimming pool".
We decided that maybe we would wait to take a swim. What do you think?
Do you want to try out our pool?
(The nasty white things are sheets that were covering our plants before they were blown off)
New experiences!
As is typical of me I have fought against the blog buzz for a long while now. If there is a new favorite thing to do by one and all I am usually quite uninterested of it until the novelty has worn off. Then I decide to join in. Is this my way of testing the waters? Rebelling against the path of "the herd"? I don't know but here I am starting a blog. I am not sure how often I will post but hopefully it will ge a way to record wonderful memories of my life and family.
Over the past year or so I have had many experiences which I thought "Oh, I wish I had a blog to put this on." Now I have one! The pessimist in me thinks that now I will not have anymore of those experiences but the realist in me knows that with 4 children it is just a matter of time.
In celebration of this new experience (of blogging) I wish to share my favorite "cute" story of late.
A few months ago my family attended a baptism of a 9 year old boy in our ward. Before it started we were just hangin' out and W. was wandering around the room. Soon he came up to me with excitement in his eyes and said something unintelligible to me. He is only two after all. I did as often mothers do I looked at him, smiled, and said "Oh really!". Only instead of feeling heard he just kept saying "eesis" and pointing to one of the men in the room. I looked and finally figured out that he thought this man was Jesus. He did have long brown hair, and a beard. We laughed and informed him that this man was not Jesus. W. wanted to believe me but was not convinced. Finally I took him to a different part of the room so he would stop pointing to this man. We sat down and started looking at the program. This particular program had a profile picture of Christ coming out of the Jordan River just being baptized. W. pointed to the picture and said "Jesus". "Yes that's right, that's Jesus." He immediately looked over at the bearded man to confirm what his mother had said and saw the same profile as was in the painting. In his mind that was the end of Mom knowing what was up. It was obvious to him that the man over there was indeed Jesus.
Oh the faith and trust of a little child. May I have a bit more of it!
